Job Description

Here at Sesami, every position is critical as we work as a team. The primary job of a Food Prep & Cook is working with the head chef on coordinating and preparing ingredients that are ready to be cooked and served. Cooking includes multitasking on using the fryer, range and flat top and ensuring food is cooked and ready to be served on a timely basis.

Responsibilities also include but not limited to supporting customer service in a friendly and professional manner, cleaning and sanitizing food prep and cook areas, and working as a team to prepare the front line for service, opening, and closing.

Candidates Requirements

  • Minimum one year food service

  • Can follow instructions/recipes and adhere to strict food safety guidelines

  • Customer service friendly attitude

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Able to stand on feet for long hours

  • Good communication skills

  • Servsafe Certified preferred

  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Willingness to learn

  • Flexible Schedule

  • HS diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma a plus

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare meats, grains, vegetables and other food items

  • Knife skills, working on the grill, fryer, and range

  • Preps food during off-peak periods

  • Assemble tickets in a fast and productive manner

  • Accurately proportion food, and follow recipes

  • Greet customers and share knowledge of our ingredients, as needed

  • Stock, FIFO rotation, date & label all products

  • Record time-temperature logs for cooked products

  • Clean and sanitize workspace during shift and scheduled restaurant cleaning

  • Assist in opening and closing procedures of kitchen and restaurant

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager on duty

*All employees will start on a part-time basis with a 90 day probationary period with a possibility for Full Time.
